Hello,

I am the new owner of a 2013 red HS. I'm located in SouthEast Pennsylvania.

My previous bike was a 2007 Multiyaya. Loved it but wanted a water cooled bike in my price range. I rode it through Manhatten a couple of times and it screamed for air! I'm hoping HS will handle that scenario better. I ride in Philadelphia on occasions as well and it would help there I think.

I'm thinking about a couple, okay few upgrades: seat, wind screen, luggage rack and fuel carrier. I would like to hear if anyone has opinions and practical experience with any of the items. I am looking at purchasing a Corbin seat. I had one on a DL650 and it was great.

ThAnks!

Congratulations Martin on the new ride. To bad you got the slower Red one. :D Just kidding.

I tried different seats on my 2014 and settled on the Ducati Race seat. The stock seat just had too much of a pocket on it and the race seat is much flatter so you can move around. You might look at one before going with the Corbin as it also has quite a pocket on it. I love Corbin seats and have many but it was just not the right one for the HS.

The stock taller windscreen on the HS seems to be a good fit right out of the box. I am 5'11" and it works fine for me. This will never be a Goldwing and you will always have wind on your head. :p

As far as a rear rack goes, if it did not come with one already, I would suggest the Altrider luggage rack. It is a very well made piece of kit and you can set it up so you can mount a Givi monokey top case on it or you can also mount a Rotopax container to it as you indicated you might want a fuel carrier.

Of all the bikes I have, I have found that on the HS it likes to be ridden with your body weight as far forward as possible. Much more so that your Multistrudle. Try kissing those mirrors when you are getting feisty in the twistys.

Thanks Marc!

I am looking at all those things! I thought the Altrider and the Rotopax. I like to destination ride so it can be a long way. My worry with such a small gas tank is getting stuck. I'm good for a mistake or two on a trip. :) as for the current windscreen, the air hits me at my chin. I want it to hit the top of my head, I think. It's either that or just take the thing off! I'm 5'11" as well.

Thanks for the welcome! It made be slower but oh how sexy it is!!!!
