I’m new to the forum, have a 13 Strada, with 3 k. Not my first Ducati, have had about eight, from the 70’s to current Strada. Love the bike, hate the seat, any suggestions for a proper seat that one can move around on?

The stock seat is good while it still has it's rigidity. Once it starts to wear out, it feels a bit cheap. The race seat just has great support and really isn't much less comfy than the stocker. A plus/ minus of the race seat is the lack of a back stop. If you really want to be planted in a set position, the OEM does a better job. The race seat has more grip with the suede-like material but, if you move around a lot (like me with a bad back), you'll notice you constantly cruise up and down the long axis. I prefer it and have done some long hauls on it but, I just find that I'm constantly moving around on it looking for the sweet spot.

Something to consider if the rider triangle isn't perfect for you is to rotate the 'bars forward somewhat. As is the custom these days, it means repositioning the pegged controls which is a bore, but it was worth it for me. I find the original seat is good enough and more comfortable than I expected, but the only longish ride so far was getting the bike home from the previous owner, and experience has shown me that a lot of potential issues don't surface fully while one is running on nerves and adrenalin having made a substantial purchase! Make no mistake though, the 'Strada is one of my favourite bikes and I hope to get another ride on it before the weather closes in.

I think a little riding will give me a better understanding as to what to do to make it more comfortable. First thing is tires, the tiers on it are 7 years old and quite dangerous in my opinion. Got some Metzler sport tech 8 on the way, should do ok with mixed sport and touring. Thanks every one for the information.
