Just picked up a decent 2016 HS with 11k on the clock. Fun bike with a few quirks. So far i've managed to run one tank through it in the past few days. Seems like i have a lot to learn about these bikes. I guess i bought it at the right time of year, the winter here will give me lots of time to research and wait for parts.:p

Welcome to the asylum! They are great-looking bikes and brilliant fun to ride, plus you'll likely have a few jobs to do on it but at least the clutch should be fine being a 2016 model.

Cheers,

Thanks Nick. I'm still trying to suss out everything on this bike. The clutch is a bit grabby but i'm getting used to it. The throttle leaves a bit to be desired. I may try the Booster Plug to see if it tames things down a bit. As much as i agree with some that throttle control helps, I've ridden and have bikes of the same HP and they don't have such a snatchy thottle.

I've got a deposit down on the same bike/year/miles! Appears to be a clean, well maintained bike, and only mods are Akrapovic slip-on and aftermarket waterproof panniers. Rides nice, although I was only able to take it on two short test rides. Local dealer asking
$10k out the door. Seems high - what did you pay if you dont mind me asking?

Mine was $11,313 on the road. Which translates to $91346.95 USD. From what i've seen looking across Canada, the price i paid was average. The bike needs nothing and looks to be nearly new condition. I looked at a 2013 with 37,000km's and he wanted $8k. The bike was tired looking and the fork seals were leaking so bad that it had coated the calipers/discs/wheel. I don't know how he didn't kill himself with it. It's still for sale. The one i bought had been for sale for months with no takers. The previous owner had only put 500km's on it before deciding to sell it. Mine is bone stock with no accessories added.

Thanks for that. When you say yours has 11k, is that kilometers or miles? Did it come with the factory panniers?

11,000 kilometers (~6800 miles) and yes, factory luggage with factory drybags. It did have frame sliders added now that i think of it.

Welcome to the gang fellow Canadian. These are great bikes - smiles for miles. I have the same year / roughly the same Kms. I just had the belts done - that was ouch ($$$). You might be due too - if not addressed already.

What tires do you have on there? They don't look like the stock Scorpion Trails

Yup. I changed based on time. My 90s duc needs belts every 2 years (!) but I think with new material technology - Ducati extended the intervals

Interesting. I've never seen the recommendation based on time. Good to know. I'll add that to the winter maintenance!

Righty-o. Have watched a buncha vids, seached the threads here and Ducati.ms, have the service manual, have done belts on my Goldwing and my Accord and various timing chains on other vehicles. Worked as a licensed auto mechanic. Got to admit, the frequency method of determining belt tension is new to me. You would think that Ducati would have designed the belt tension to be in the key of 'D'. ;)
