I wonder if it's Ducati or bad adjustment. I used to have Yamaha and always find Neutral was very easy. With HS not that easy and I try to adjust.
Does anybody else notice that ?
With my HS, I have to be really gentle when I push the shifter up to reach the neutral. I don't have to go all the way up, just a little push!
It took me a week to find how to do it.
If you've played with the clutch adjustment to make an easier launch, it hates that. Reset back to the spec 2-4mm of play and thats your starting point.
I can only find Neutral from first, it's nearly impossible for me to find it from 2nd. And I do find that neutral between 6th and 5th about 25% of the time...
Same problem on a 2015 'tard. Seems particularly troublesome when the bike is cold, so I think it could just be a break in issue, the bike only has 5k on the clock. I'll ask the shop about adjustment next time I get the oil changed.
The clutch cable gets loose pretty quick the first few thousand miles. There's also an adjuster behind one of the small plastic triangular blank plates below the tank. I found mine falls out of adjustment pretty quickly. I still fiddle with it often at stop lights on every ride.
