Hi guys,
I've been lurking awhile and reading through all the great posts on here but I figured it's time to ask for your help. I have taken two test rides on the hyperstrada and I am in love but I just don't know if it's the right bike for me!
I purchased my first bike almost exactly a year ago, a 2013 V-strom 650 and I thought I would be happy with it for years to come. It's a great bike but it is missing that *** appeal factor... It just doesn't feel very exciting and it doesn't get my heart racing when I think about riding it. I have started looking to upgrade but I don't want to be in the same place a year from now.
I feel confident on the hyperstrada and my god it is such a fun bike to ride! The only concerns I have are that I am 6' tall, 180lbs and it feels a bit cramped for me. I have taken a few 300+ mile trips on my V-strom and I worry I won't be able to do that on this bike without getting very sore. Also, my girlfriend likes to ride with me but I've heard the hyperstrada doesn't do two-up very well.
I have an opportunity to buy a leftover 2013 model from a local dealer for $12,000 no freight or other charges. It's the red version and I have to say I like the white more. Is this a good deal? The dealer said their cost is $11,799 so they can't do any better.
I don't want to lose the adventure aspect of my bike but I want something more agile and fun than a big adventure bike. I can sell my V-strom for $8,000 locally so it's not too much of a loss. I just don't know what to do!!! Other bikes I have considered are the Tiger 800, Street Triple R, and the new V-Strom 1000.
Sorry for the confusing rant, I guess I'm just looking for someone to put my mind at ease and settle these concerns!
Thanks!
