Hi all, have a hyperstrada 821 which I bought few months ago ,has a pirelli
Angel gt2 on front and just the gt on rear, they need replacing iam in Ireland and mostly going to use in summer so either will do ,or any other suggestions, not going to do big mileage just summer spins.metzeler get great reviews but so do pirelli, has anyone tried the metzeler on a hyper?
Metzeler roadtec 01se
Pirelli angel gt2 front and back

I have found the Metzeler to be very stable. But they need a bit more input. On tight back roads they are not as crisp, but at higher speeds they stay put very well. I get about 5k miles with spirited riding.
Hope that helps.

My Roadtec's (Z8 not 01) have just come to end-of-life.
They were on the bike when I bought it so not sure how old they were - I got about 3.5k miles from what was left of them.
No complaints with them, but I can't compare them to any other brand. They feel sure-footed and stable even though very worn now.

I was aiming to get the angel gt2's myself, but got a pair of Michelin Road 5's for a bargain (new but old stock)

Review/ comparison site here gives the Metzler much better scores on everything except wear rate (Which is opposite of what I expected to see)

Cheers

You can always look on the tire for date of manufacture. For instance, a little oval shape with 23/21 in it means it was made in the 23rd week of 2021. The sign is usually only on one side of the tire and may be tricky to locate. I go for the Avon Storm 3D, having stuck with Avons for years. No complaints!

I installed a set of Dunlop Mutants this past summer and am very pleased so far. Very favourable reviews on the interwebs too, regarding feedback, longevity and price.
