Have you put a windscreen on your Hyper 698? Which one? Results? I'm looking at the Flanker or Trend.

I would love to replace the headlight / number plate with either a full number plate (get rid of headlight) or add a sport screen and then clip ons.

Then I just think I need to get another bike.

Puig doesn't seem to make a windscreen for the 698 at all, but maybe you can make them work, the flanker looks more in line with the bikes styling and maybe if you bought one for a hyper 950 since it just handlebar mounts and is adjustable you can make it work, seems nothing out there yet specific to the 698.

Not 'another bike'
Just 'more bikes'
;)

I haven't had a naked bike since 1984! Somewhere over 65 the wind pressure gets tiresome.

So, it seemed I could not get a Flanker for months and I bought a Trend. It went on in less than 30 minutes (instructions are pictograms) and looks good. Weather's bad here, so I only got to ride it once for an hour-ish. I like it. Flanker may look better, but the Trend likely works better. Below 50 the wind hits my face shield and above the mouth vent so I don't get enough air flow to stop face shield fogging when temps are in the 30s. Over 60 it hits the top of my shoulders like Puig's wind pressure diagram.

The 2-point mounting ended up quite sturdy, mostly because the struts angle outward.

I've found paying for a full carbon helmet has me helped a lot, due to the ultralight weight.

Pin lock shied is great for less moisture and fog. A neck roll, neck buff, or balaclava/ski mask helps to reduce wind noise. Maybe not your style but a classic scarf and ear plugs makes it quite quiet other than the booming exhaust.

My GT Air has a pinlock, but I've never used it. I should give it a try. I don't normally need it.

I always wear ear plugs. And I wear a balaclava in cold weather.

Cool datapoint insofar as screens.

From the first ride, I've been impressed by how clean of an air stream the bike throws off. I put 2500 miles of backroads on the 698 last season with a beaked Arai XD4 and XD5, and it's been fine. Zero motivation to mess with it for the speeds at which it lives.

On the tangent of Puig, I slapped a Puig on my 1200GS and it's been fantastic as far as air stream quality and coverage for touring, exceeding expectations.

Spent a couple of hours on twisty roads yesterday and broke a ton on the highway home. The Puig Trend is excellent. It blocks the wind from my chest and is rock stable at the ton. I recommend it. I left a 6 - 10mm gap between the front number plate and the bottom of the Puig. I could not tell what effect that had. It was too cool to ride without gloves.

Also tried the pinlock. It works, maybe not perfectly, but quite good. Thanks for the advice!
