quick slip-on question

Just a quick reply. The Termi low slip on for the 821 fits the 939 but the dealer told me it would void my warranty if I installed it. It is not Euro 4 compliant.

Dealers will find any way they can to "void" a warranty. AKA they hope you're stupid. That doesn't mean it's voided just because they tell you it is! Read the Magnuson"“Moss Warranty Act from 1975. It's the dealers/Ducati's responsibility to determine that your service/modification caused a problem. Not yours to prove it didn't.

This is cut and dried already.

Just passing on what the dealer told me, who checked directly with Ducati USA. I decided to not risk it personally as I have a 5 year extended warranty although pretty clear if you put a non euro 4 compliant pipe on a 939 they would balk at warranty coverage.

They will *try* to balk. They can't deny you coverage for a completely unrelated item failing. Brakes pulsing really bad? They can't tell you that your aftermarket exhaust did that. Use common sense..

If you feel uncertain , just slip oem pipe back on when you go for a service .

Not worried about unrelated items. I want to keep my engine under warranty. I went with a Termi full system and love it. Bike is much smoother.

Wouldn't the ECU need to be flashed with the slip on though? I can't imagine you'd really see any gains if it was under the same tune?

I'd really love to get the Termi exhaust, but $3,000 installed is just ridiculous. That and I'd lose the panniers.

I got my leftover 2016 w/ 3 miles on it for just over $10,000. I can't justify paying a third of the price of the bike to get a better sounding exhaust (Maybe?), lose the panniers and maybe pick up a HP or two.......

Agree it was a splurge. I really didn't like the look of the stock low exhaust and am not going to tour on the bike. The stock throttle response was also driving me crazy. It's really a Sunday ride out and about around Washington bike for me. And you are correct, it was 3k installed with tax.
