hey crew,
thinking of doing a full service on my Forks on the Strada.

Anyone do this yet? price seems reasonable, $720.

thoughts?

thanks much in advance

IMHO they are very good at what they do. I haven't chosen which way to go for my 13' HS forks yet (and it's now middle of riding season...), but I had Racetech front and rear rebuilds on my 900 SS and I was really very pleased. Make sure you get it set up for your weight and for your own riding preferences.

Search. Zippy49 has RT front end. He's written about it extensively in the suspension threads.

Doesn't appear they have anything for the Motard or the Strada, at least according to their site.

If you contact them they have done a few of our bikes. It requires machining the fork to let them use their cartridge and costs a bit more but the results are far better than what you can achieve by doing changes to the stock cartridge or adding stuff to it.

Got it. Thanks. I knew our forks were assembled in such a way to make modification more difficult than normal.

"A bit?" That's a pretty big "bit." The RT setup included a Gold Valve and the mount for it also required machining. Not sure why they want $220 more than I paid but that may include shipping. Or removal from the bike. And unless you've compared the two back-to-back, you can't really comment on relative results.

I'm 100% satisfied with my setup. Traxxion makes good, race-spec stuff, but I don't need it on this bike. It's overkill.

I was just saying, for a few hundred more you can have entirely new, serviceable cartridges with external adjustments in each leg. I haven't use either one. I'm sure they're both miles better than stock :D
