Wondering how waterproof these side bags will be?
If they will be easy to clean?
If a helmet will fit in these?

If they were waterproof, I believe they'd be advertised as such. My guess is they're water-resistant and while I can't envision fitting a helmet in the side bags I think the optional topcase will fit one. Cleaning them shouldn't be too much of a pain but tears and overall durability may be a different story. Anyone seen/felt them in person yet?

The bags come with a plastic cover to use in wet conditions.

Durability is also a question mark for me. I plan to use bags only when traveling for a few days as they do get in the way when mounting-dismounting the bike and I prefer a tank bag for everyday use.

I use them nearly every time I ride, mostly commute to work. My karate leg swing is getting better and I've learned to keep a hand under my right knee to help it clear.

I think the weak point of the bags will be the zippers. It looks as though the hem's are already stretching a bit. I swear I see a slight purple hew in sunlight, like they're already fading. They also cause noticeable turbulence at hwy speeds.

Pros: They work, came with the bike and I actually like the way the bike looks when they're mounted. They also clean up really easy with a stiff brush or some mild detergent when really nasty. The sticky release issue is better with some work on the locking pawls, but not perfect.

I noted my skepticism with dealer at first service and they told me they would replace if not meeting standards for up to 2 years.

I share you're concerns gatdammit, the seams on my zippers seem to be stretching some on the front, my dealer took a picture and filed it for me in case it gets worse. But if its done that to me in 1000 kms what happens when I'm on my second or third set of bags and the warranty runs out

For stock gear, I think they're very good. But something plastic/metal, more streamlined with latches instead of zippers will last longer. Honestly, if I go through 2 sets I'll be pushing Ducati to buy me an upgrade. Sucks for us, but good in the sense that future stock systems will be beefed up...hopefully.

I really need to get these talks with my dealer documented. He's very genuine and assures me I'm covered but they're just talks.

The dry bags work great, I really like them. But getting your leg over takes a stretch for sure. Bugs even clean off of them pretty easy.

We did fit a full face Arai helmet in them at the dealer MOTOEUROPA here in St. Louis. No not as sturdy as my Jesse's on the F650 but not bad for free.

hi
can you tell me what you are using to clean the bugs of the bags
thanks

I use a stiff brush to clean bugs off and a little soapy water if they're really bad.

FB, I stuff my full-face AGV in the bags all the time. It fits fine when flipped upside down.

Yes, they clean up easily. And yes, a full-face helmet fits in easily. While not the biggest sturdiest bags like hard bags, they do work very well. One of the bikes I was considering is the KTM 990 SMT and the bags on that are tiny compared to those on the Hyperstrada. I like 'em. But I'm going to put on the top case and take the side bags off and use them for trips only. I preferred that setup on my MTS 1000S so I guess I'm stuck in a "bag rut."

Mine were not the easiest to get off without a hefty dunt underneath. the clips have even cut the fabric a little given the effort you use to get them off. My dealer has also taken pics of that problem and the zipper stitching. Dont get me started on the key getting stuck in the lock...

What i do know is the Multi top box and bracket is a bolt on fit and 150 bones cheaper here in Canada AND it paint matches and has a backrest.
