Sold the hyper but I want another

As some of you may know I had a lot of trouble with my 2013 hyperstrada that I got last March. I put 14,500 miles on it until I sold it in February of this year to get a 2014 R1. I love Asian bikes as they are dominately more reliable, but I have realized I had more fun on my hyper.

During the time I owed the bike the top triple bearing seal was replaced, my ecu / dash was replaced, my front rotors & all brake pads replaced, my kickstand sensor replaced, & my throttle assembly replaced all under warranty. The bike was an ultimate lemon.

When it ran properly it was the most fun I've ever had. The dealer told me I simply got unlucky with my bike, but that's not understandable for someone who has almost 100,000 miles on a motorcycle & all of their bikes being Asian made. I'm only 25 & I don't ride like a complete jerk, so idk why all this happened to me.

I do want to buy another though but want to know if there are any of you with suggestions to if 2014 is better than 2013 & if my bike was just the one bad one. Maybe some of you have more miles than 14,500 on yours and I want to know how it's holding up for you.

Seriously looking to get another, so do your best to help me, but be honest.

I feel your pain man. I ride a japanese sport bike and the Hyper. The sport bike is so much more refined and reliable and built to last, but the Hyper is way more fun.

If I were you I'd get something sort of in the middle like a Superduke 1290 or S1000R. Too bad BMW doesn't make a Hyper equivalent.

As for the 14/15's, I don't think there's much difference if any. I have had issues with mine but I will still keep it. It's worth the minor headaches.

I'm sure the newer models have had the bugs worked out. I have a 2013, just picked it up on Thursday and the lock that hold the left bag onto the bike isn't detaching when I tirn the key....

I'm still breaking it on. Once I hit the 600 mile service I'm going to get it into sport mode and start to have some fun with this bad boy. Since you already have a sport bike why not a cruiser instead?

I really do need 2, but right now I need something comfortable & fun. I need the gf to want to ride with me. Haha

check out an inexpensive preowned cruiser
there are tons of them all over. Just craigslist it!
