So, I'm going mad scientist in my brain over these. They are basically a 2.0 of our bags. Looks like more durable material on the outer edge, accordion-style expansion feature that holds a full-face helmet, shoulder strap fittings, and better internal organization features. Con's are the price and that awful mounting system.
Aside from the passenger leg grooves, basically the same shape as ours. I don't see why our receiver brackets couldn't be swapped. Might look a little ugly on the back side but you won't notice from the street. Can't say they will accommodate losing the stock receiver housing, either. Could be an integral part of it's rigidity for all I know.
I'm on my second set of stockers and the material just sucks. The only sun my new set gets is when I'm on the road about an hour a day and they still turned purple. Rubbing in traffic is pretty common where I live and the fabric tears but overall fairly robust. Bug guts can stain, even with routine fabric treatment (I use a 303 UV protector, which doesn't seam to do anything).
So I've weighed using a fabric paint or getting my old set refinished. But if I'm going to invest in a maybe fix, I'd probably rather try these. I will not pay that ridiculous OEM price. If I can't find them used, I have points and discounts at some of the big suppliers. I'd probably still drop at least a grand, though.
