Two Question - Rack and Guards

Hi, I'm picking up a new 2016 Hyperstrada 939 this week. End of season deal. Two questions, first any recommendations on a tail rack? I see SW-Motech makes one but I'm checking if it's a turnkey install for any other rack suggestions. The only other mods I'm looking at are a radiator and oil cooler guards. Are these necessary? I plan on little to no off road riding but you never know when you might hit road works or a gravel road. Thanks!

If I were to do it all over again I would put a skid plate and radiator guard straight away.

I like the R&G radiator guard because it doesn't have the big 'EP' embossed on the metal like the Evotech one. However, Evotech makes a nice radiator guard/cylinder head combo.
I have the SW-Motech skid plate, but there are some other nice options out there with more coverage.

TL;DR - Yes, I'd recommend it because rocks fly up.

Thanks! How about the oil cooler? Does the SW-Motech skid plate fit correctly on the 939?

Unless you follow guys on gravel roads that love to roost you, I don't see the need for a radiator guard as it is durable. Much more so than others I've seen, or even on autos.

The oil cooler is another matter, as it is exposed to roost from the front tire. The key is to not slow airflow. I have the materials to make a very good one easily but am without a pattern bike.

I'd recommend a radiator guard, even if not doing trails.
I've been pelted following a mate over the white line when overtaking slower traffic.
There can be build up of stones etc. and if your radiator was to get holed, then that's you waiting for the recovery truck. They don't cost the earth and you can always recoup some money if you later remove it and sell, that's if you decide to sell the bike at a later date.
