Predator Helmet

Anybody seen this? It looks well made and I'm a huge sci-fi fan but could you imagine wearing this on the road? There would be some heart failure and crying kids for sure.

Oh, and the visibility looks suicidal.

Ha ha. Yes seen them. Very expensive and also illegal to use over this side of the water.
But would be fun to see them being used

As I have often said, if you live long enough you will see every thing, even a suicide helmet.

but you get a complimentary clear visor and can add a targeting laser...

Very cool but I wouldn't want one. But lucky for us there are some very cool helmets that aren't ridiculous coming out by major manufacturers, the new bell rogue and bullitt the shark raw, and any number of fighter jet style helmets like the OSBE tornado. I still also love the ROOF boxers. We're coming a long way from the guys gluing transformers halloween masks to their helmets

Agree with you. I have a Icon Variant helmet. I'm totally in love with it.

OSBE tornado

Carefull though. This is a scooter helmet. I doubt we could use this one while drive a 800cc class bike. Too bad, it's figgin awesome.

I have an AGV ax8 ds and love it. it's kinda noisy and catches some wind at highway speeds but for commuting to work and a ride through the city after work is done. The super wide eye port and the peak shading from the sun, I really think it enhances my drive. I was looking at the variant, the joe rocket hybrid thing, and the arai xd. But I seen the AGV on clearance one day for a price I couldn't resist.
The OSBE looks awesome but you're rite it really can't be you're only helmet can it :p

You are right. Despite the fact that I love my actual helmet I am still in a struggle to not swap the card and buy one of these. Same goes for the Roof Boxer helmet. Arrrghh! For sure I will have more than one helmet. But now is not a good moment. It's pretty sad though, both OSBE and Roof brands are not sold in anywhere in the whole America.

I love the Shark Raw but it consistently gets horrible reviews for funtionality and durability. But it looks so cool I almost want to buy one just to put on my bookshelf. The OSBE and Roof are cool too.

I can tell you from experience that aviation helmets typically sacrifice comfort for crash protection. Oh, I've been wearing the same helmet for 13 years. And I'm pretty sure they debuted my current model in the early 90's. So, how cool is that? I think most bike helmets recommend you toss your shell after 5 years or so.

I have the Icon Variant, too. I think it look very good. A bit wind noise on the longer trips, though, but I guess that is to be expected.

Targeting laser could prove useful in traffic, particularly if connected to a "vehicle shifting ray".

While the Shark Raw, ROOF and OSBE helmets look pretty cool, I have three key criteria for helmet selection 1 - it must be a perfect fit; 2 - it must be a perfect fit and 3 - it must be perfect fit; well there is in truth a fourth, it must be a quality product. I have been besotted by the appearance of various helmets over the years only to find when I pulled them on they just did not fit my head shape no matter how much padding was shifted around or shell size changes; some helmets just suit some heads better than others. A perfectly fitting, quality helmet is all important to me.

Don't those long visors catch the wind and tug at speed?

With the Icon Variant helmet. Quite yes. Especially above 90km/h. In my case it's not much a problem even after 12+ hours rides. I guess my built and endurance has something to do with it.

I wonder how many owners who have complained about pressure and buffeting (see windscreen threads) are wearing these dirt bike style helmets. My Bell Star is quite aerodynamic, I never get any neck strain.

In the sales brochure - the one showing the couple on a 'strada touring the Adriatic coast - they are wearing the Ducati version of this style. I've done some dual sport, and my AGV dirt helmet is awful above 70 mph. Or in a big head wind - we get those here.

Actually, I giggle every time I see some farkeled-up GS ridden by someone who will obviously never get it dirty. :D

I saw a review on that predator helmet. It is a joke, it was falling apart after one ride and safety wise no better than a bicycle helmet. Arai is the only helmet for me. Had an xd3 on my last sumo but bought a defiant because it was 5 yrs old and xd's catch the wind above 100km/h. There is no better helmet than arai.
