When will media reviews be published?

Hello everyone. Does anybody here know if Ducati has made the new bike available to the magazines for first impressions and reviews? Any guesses as to when we will be seeing those? Thanks!
 
Hi Gary, welcome to the site!

The first ride reviews by the various media channels should start to come out by early February.

I'm hoping there will be one at the upcoming International Motorcycle Shows in California so we can see it in person.
 
Thanks for your answer. I have another question that I am wondering if someone can answer. I was told by my dealer that the 820 engine was based around the 848 Streetfighter engine but uses the 11 degree valve overlap design used in the Multistrada. Using a lot of 848 components would make a lot of sense as the displacement and other engineering requirments would be more similar than the those connected with any other engine they have. Any truth to this, or is the 820 really altogether different from both engines? The 848 engine has been out for a while and seems to have an excellent reputation for reliability so this is kind of what I am hoping to hear.
 
From what I have heard the 820 is not a down sized 848 but a completely different mill. Yes it has the 11 degree valve over lap but stroke is longer than the 848 giving better torque in the lower RPMs.
 
11-degree Testastretta is not only on the Multi and SF848, but also the Diavel. As jerdog said aids running at low-mid RPM and it also helps extend the service intervals. Great modern motors on those bikes - would have been cool if the Hyperstrada got the DS treatment that the new Multi got, too.

A friend of mywill give the dealer training in Italie within 2 weeks. He told me that the press guys will have there introduction a few days before. So I think the first reviews will start begin march!!
 
Visor Down has a first ride on the Hypermotard. Pretty extensive write up and a lot of it will apply to the Hyperstrada.
