Just found this thread. My first Ducati was a 1965 Monza Junior, 160cc. A reliable, easy to work on pushrod single. My second bike, bought new. Found a tiny pic of a similar one.
I managed my first ever roadside repair on this bike when the locknut came off of the intake tappet. I was pulling an indicated 80 when I heard something go "clank" under the gas tank, and the bike lost power. My parents continued home on my Dad's Velocette, about 30 miles away, to get our trailer. But after a few minutes I realized that it would still start and idle, but would die if I opened the throttle! So I looked at the top end, saw the tappet cover, and took it off with an allen from the toolkit. The nut was laying in there. I set the clearance, tightened the nut, and met my Dad on my way back. He was quite surprised.
I was 16 years old, and this was quite the personal triumph at the time. I'm still not sure how I figured it all out as I was a total noob. But don't ask about Ducati #2, which kept me away from them until last year.
