Draining Rain Water from the Hypermotard Battery Box

Or you could move to a drier part of the UK, if there were any! ;)

Ducati announces new Hypermotard 698 Mono

Well, it's a mucky old job so I'd be pleased if someone else did it! As Alan says, it's amazing the manufacturers think we can be trusted to even ride the things.

    Lambda Sensor Replacement - Hypermotard/Hyperstrada 821

Sorry, that last phrase was meant to read "I hope YOU get to enjoy yours"!

    Lambda Sensor Replacement - Hypermotard/Hyperstrada 821

I can't help you with the connections but am wondering what you hope to gain from doing this? How did the bike run with the lambda eliminators? These motors are notorious for fueling glitches so simply going back to the original spec won't guarantee a smooth ride. However, when they run well...

Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono Owner Roll Call

I wish! Agree about the RVE graphics. Can't wait to hear some feedback so stay in touch! Nick

Ducati Scrambler Dirt Track by WildMotor

Aside from the fact that it isn't a Hyper and doesn't really belong here (OK, so all Ducatis are good), I hope you've considered fitting a chain tension jockey wheel. With the swingarm at that static angle, the chain needs to be really loose to avoid destroying the gearbox bearings on full bump...

Removing bolt from bottom of shock

Sounds like the bolt has corroded and seized in the sleeve of the bearing. Can you get to the tail of the bolt to apply some shock load there? Otherwise, repeated soaking with WD40 for several days and maybe put a hex key in an electric screwdriver/impact wrench set on the lightest clutch...

Pirelli or Metzeler Tires for Hyperstrada 821

You can always look on the tire for date of manufacture. For instance, a little oval shape with 23/21 in it means it was made in the 23rd week of 2021. The sign is usually only on one side of the tire and may be tricky to locate. I go for the Avon Storm 3D, having stuck with Avons for years. No...

Problem shifting into Neutral at stoplights - 2016 Hypermotard 939SP

You need to adjust your clutch, I reckon, the problem being due to clutch drag. Assuming you mean that the motor is running 'when stopped'.

Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono comes with Lithium-Ion Battery

I'm very conflicted too because, though ICE motors and gears are part of my soul (if I have one), the serene feeling of gearless E-power in our little car is delightful and allows me to concentrate fully on road conditions and scenery without needing to deal with the mechanicals. Come the...

    Crazy Fueling Problems - 2016 Hyperstrada 939

Thanks for your reasoned response. Like you, I find there are plenty of bikes that appeal enough to own (sadly, I dismiss sports bikes out of hand) but are not so easy to bond with in all circumstances. The HS certainly comes into that category for me, being gorgeous to look at and exciting to...

    Crazy Fueling Problems - 2016 Hyperstrada 939

Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono comes with Lithium-Ion Battery

And it might burst into flames! Probably not, I guess, unless the wrong charger is used, but is it worth the risk? I have to admit we've recentlt bought a modern EV car and don't worry about the lithium batteries in that. It's good fun too, with very snappy acceleration from rest. I've not...

Ducati announces new Hypermotard 698 Mono

Thanks for the encouragement Alan but I can barely move in the garage now, even if I could justify the expense! My good lady has been nudging me to move some of the bikes on for ages but it hasn't happened yet. It'll be interesting to see if the ride reviews confirm the impression that this is...

Hypermotard 950 Concept: Inspiration for Hypermotard RVE

Thanks for that duc, and I'd got as far myself without finding an explanation! Maybe the R is the usual shorthand for 'racing' or somesuch and the VE stands for Villa d'Este? If it was a Japanese factory, they'd be sure to let us know what the acronyms stood for. Superb posted pictures! Nick

2024 Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono Pictures

Can someone please explain what the RVE epithet stands for? Apart from a messy design that destroys the basic elegance of Ducati's styling? Nick

Front Head Lift Stand for 2019 Hypermotard 950SP

Hi Rob, I sympathise with you over this problem. I've had to modify/make nose-pieces for my stand (can't remember the make) because I guess most front stands are made for 'normal' height bikes and I have several ADV-height bikes. Fortunately, I have a lathe and also make use of old wheel...

Ducati announces new Hypermotard 698 Mono

Much as I like single-cylinder bikes and Ducati's should be outstanding, I can't see them dropping the twins which would leave this standing. It's a shame I'll likely never get to try one. But then I certainly don't belong to the demographic of those in the video, being 50 years too old!

Installing Aprilia (Eldor) Coil Packs on Hypermotard/Hyperstrada

Glad to hear you got to the cause of the problem, and the coil change is a very good move. Now I'd suggest you replace that burnt-out bulb with a good LED one that will give more light for less current!

Installing Aprilia (Eldor) Coil Packs on Hypermotard/Hyperstrada

Well, at least you found the culprit! I think I'd try just replacing that fuse to see what happens. Hopefully the worst is it will blow again and then you'll know there's a big problem somewhere. The coill transplant is a very wise move whatever.
