I prefer the "Urban" map on my 821. Should I get an SV650? V-Strom 650XT?

No shame in an sv650. The new ones have ABS, better front brakes, and little more power and efficiency. Seems like a lovely machine. Still - I'd put the hyper in sport, and get on it. At the speeds yor going, the SV probably won't be straining much. But if my hyper exploded tomorrow - I'd...

    remove and replace battery

The only trick is getting the tie down strap on - put tension on it, press the metal ring into place, THEN pull the strap over the top hook. Only took me 6 years....

Likely loose ground - what do I check

So it was the ground wire to the starter?

    Long-distance travel spare parts

If I was leaving the US or Europe - I'd buy a honda for sure.

    Long-distance travel spare parts

Oh Yeah - I got a air of padded bicycle shorts and my delicate buttocks are pain and squirm free. So simple - so much could have been avoided.

    Long-distance travel spare parts

I've put on about 38,000 touring miles and have had only a few things happen: headlight burn out - of course you only notice at night LOL. Replaced with evetech style LED (sharp cutoff and emulates filament for good focus) chain adjustment hose clamps loosen allowing coolant drips bag snagged...

    Sold my hyperstarada 939, bought...

RSL has a lot more experience with the mupos than me and has written about it on the forum. He has front and rear, and is a more accomplished rider than myself. Might be good to check his threads.

    Sold my hyperstarada 939, bought...

Yes I do. I only got to ride a few hundred miles before the lock down, so I just made minor adjustments to the rebound and compression, but I have found them precise: I know exactly how they'll react to the road so I can just get on with riding in full confidence. I look forward to a little...

    Tire Tread Issue?

    Jeez - now I'm worried that I DON'T see that - LOL.

    Sold my hyperstarada 939, bought...

Did a full Mupo front upgrade for about$1100 installed. Forks needed to be serviced anyway after 5 hard years so would have been the same labor probably: make it about $900.00 . Rear shock seems good to me -but might have traxxion rebuild and revalve next year for about $350.00. 210lbs with...

    Gas sensitive bike.

Sometimes I have to use low octane and it does OK. I wonder if with the low usage of fuel during these COVID days, if you got some old fuel that had degraded in some way?

No better with Rapid Bike EVO

I admire your determination, but maybe just not the bike for you. The ktm 890 duke looks super sweet, but could be a frying pan to fire situation. These are getting good reviews - easy at the low end, a bit of bite higher up: F 900 R

No better with Rapid Bike EVO

Well a portion of your hyper lives on - installed the midpipe, flapper motor and cable yesterday. I'm officially the only person putting energy into getting a rusted out flapper working. LOL.

No better with Rapid Bike EVO

I had a cb500f and it was a wonderful machine, so I hear where you're coming from. It was jarring coming from the Honda to the Duc. This bike requires decisive precise inputs, but when you get the rhythm it is a wonderful machine in its own right. Not better or worse than the Honda (except in...

    Throttle Play Issues

I just programmed sport and tour for the sport throttle setting and I like it. In tour it always seemed like a long twist to get to the meat of the matter and on the highway my wrist would start to hurt. Sport seems like an intuitive connection to the engine.

Little bit of Zinc plating during lockdown

Nice! I've been wrestling with corroding fasteners - mostly trying to replace at the moment. New flapper pipe and motor, trying to get the front header nuts off. I ride in all weather so it's tough and I'll have to be more vigilant. Is there a high temp grease or protector you can put on...

For inquisiteve readers in a dystopian future - I can confirm they are the right pins. Norman Reedus approved.

Can we get pictures of all the different seat options in one thread?

I don't really know how to post pics, but the best seat option I got was padded bicycle shorts. My ass is not even on my mind as I ride my many lonely miles, and its a little more shapely too!
