I dont know how bad is in paris but here in miami you see guys doing 140 on rush hour traffic. I personally know a couple of guys that used to ride like maniacs and they didnt have a very happy ending.

Yeah its always good to know you have those extra horses. As much as they can get you in trouble they could also got you out of trouble

I would never do 140. I don't know about everyone else, but this bike will have the highest power-to-weight ratio of any bike I've owned.

The second pic on this thread shows a rider's view of the information display and screen. The two black structures - one each side of the screen - look rather too complex to just be supports.

Does anyone know if in fact the screen is adjustable - if so, those structures are presumably part of the adjusting/ locking mechanism. Hard to tell, but does that look like a knurled knob?? If so, that would suggest some adjustability up and down and/ or rake...

I'd really like to know, given the very skinny appearance of the screen - some adjustability might be very useful.

Any who knows if there going to be a gear indicator on the bike?

Any who knows if there going to be a gear indicator on the bike?

No one knows, or is this one of the "stupid" question?

I've had bike with and without gear indicator, but each time when there has not been one, I've missed it.

Mostly I miss it when I'm driving in town in a quiet pace.

From all PIC that I can see the "instruments" at MC, there is at the bottom center of the screen a number.
The number is 6.

I hope this is the gear indicator, although I find it odd that the nr 6 is there when the neutral light also is lit.
(Should it not be N or 0?)

All of you who are lucky enough to have driven the bike .. Help me with my question. (And those of you who know .. please help out to.. :))

No one in the forum knows for sure, but we already had this discussion before and i believe that 6 is the total miles (odometer).

From all the pics and video I saw, there is no gear indicator for me - you just have a shift indicator :)

I don’t recall hearing anyone talk about the gear indication, do any of their bikes do that?

When I'm riding with my wife and go thru something like a traffic circle invariable she will ask me what gear I was in and I always respond with “I don’t know” which is true I don’t have a gear indicator and therefore would have to keep track and count and really I just don’t care what gear I’m in so long as we have the right RPMs…

I'm not so sure the gear indicator is of any great merit TBH.

Rode the multi recently and often the gear indicator was giving false information anyway, so....

Really, other than when your newbie status, you shouldn't really need a gear indicator anyway.

I thought that a bike with al that sofisticated technology would have a simple thing as a "gear indicator" of some kind.

When you drive active, you don't care about it, but when you drive in slow pace in town at low rpg, the wrong gear at the same rpm will give diffrent result when you twist the throttle.

I for one love it. Better to have it than not having and miss it.

I got a chance to ride a Cagiva Gran canyon for a short while and i really like it. Have you been on a hyperstrada yet? If so How does it compare?

I have only compared them virtually on the motorcycle ergonomics web site and they look extremely similar as far as that is concerned. The Hyper makes considerably more HP than the Cagiva does so I should think the grin factor will be better as well. Once my dealer has one I will be riding one!
