So I read the post and have a follow up to confirm:

Heated Grips as standard?
No Shift / Gear indicator?
No Fuel Gauge?
Miles to Empty gauge?

-heated grips NOT standard; ready mod that will plug into one of 12V ports, I assume
-I read there is a shift indicator light
-Ducati site indicates "current/avg fuel consumption indicator"

No Shift indicatorlight= DTC light in the middle which will indicate when you hit the rev limiter/working DTC.

Indeed you can see your consumption on the dash. There is so much you can adjust that i take a few hours to read the manual!

No fuel gauge was a big annoyance of mine on the streety.....

Average/current consumption sound great to have but what you really need is a gauge that shows how much fuel you have left.

As long as it has an odometer then we'll just have to do it old school.

What pitch of chain should I get 520,525, 530? to replace my oem chain?

Grips - Ready wired from factory, additional purchase and plug into main harness behind the headlight assy and well worth it btw.

No shift/gear indicator, red DTC light flashes when on rev limiter

no fuel gauge just warning on the dash.

miles to empty - nope there too. luck and math if riding the warning.

Gonna give you my old fart opinion - 25 years ago hardly any bike had a fuel gauge, a gear indicator, and/or even a low fuel light. They had a 'reserve' position on the petcock (my 50's and 60's Brit bikes do not), and the range to empty would vary a lot. You want those new fangled things, buy a BMW or something. For me, the Strada has plenty of electronic features as-is. Maybe too many!

525, per the manual. Seems like most middleweight bikes come with this size these days, even the little Honda CBR300.

Hi guys, can anyone shed some light on the wheel travel of the Hyperstrada? In some places it mentions it as 150mm (like in the beginning of this thread and on the official site), whereas in the tech. specs. of the same official site it mentions it as 130mm. Am about to buy a Hyperstrada 821 after selling my Monster 796 yesterday, and this small discrepancy has been bugging me!

thanks!

there are already threads about that

MY2013+2014 normal model: 150mm
MY2013+2014 low model: 130mm
MY2015: seems to have 130mm, no certified info for 2015, but new techn. specs say 130mm - Ducati Hyperstrada - Ducati

Indian made vs Thai?

Compared to our newly-purchased KTM 390 Duke, the Strada has some serious compromises.

The 390's dash shows gear position, fuel level and coolant temp (bar graphs), and it can be set to show miles to empty along with many other semi-useful calculations.

It has damping in BOTH fork legs, too. They are 43mm, just like the Strada, and travel is quoted at 150 mm F/R.

I guess Ducati had to save a bit for the desmo system and the race teams...

You forgot to mention that Hyper has 110 HP and the Duke has what? 37?....

Thanks ferdi. So basically just wanted to make sure the Hyperstradas' suspension is comfortable enough with such limited wheel travel. Talking about bad, broken roads and off road. I have taken a test ride but it was a very short one and i couldn't really tell anything except that it was way more comfortable than the Monster!
