I have a new to me 2013 Hypermotard SP that I rode maybe five times that has now experienced the Christmas Tree dash and is not starting. It does has the dashboard CAN protection device but other than that I have not idea how to go about fixing it.. But the dealer will gladly do it for $6000... That’s just crazy in my opinion.. Please let me know if you have any thoughts on what I can do would be greatly appreciated.

$6000!!! You could buy a donor 2013 for that price. If you had the TSB fix and same failure that drove the fix, you can:
1. Escalate to regional rep or maybe Duc USA
2. Get an estimate somewhere else because that is totally insane
3. Buy new coils, dash and DIY. Not cheap but fraction of that original quote. I'm not sure how replacing dash affects mileage reading or if it fries the ECU. You may need a dealer to program. Pretty sure a member on here detailed replacing the dash.

Escalate it to Ducati USA. They should cover it

I will and I guess we will have to see what happens..

Does anyone happen to have a Hypermotard 821 ECU for sale? One that works? I don’t even know if they are interchangeable from bike to bike..

You would need the ecu and display. They get expensive used. There is a guy floating around the FB groups that takes the display apart and replaces the fried chip. He does it as a service but he also shows you how he does it. I don't have a link for you but I'm sure if you do some deep searching you will find it. He popped up in the last 3ish months

I think its kuksul who had it!

I thought kuksul sold the bike and got something new but still watches the group to help when he can. The guy I'm taking about is pulling the whole display apart, resoldering the choosey that is messed up and soldering new in. I don't recall a price but I do remember seeing a step by step pic

Is 28642271B the correct updated part number? And is there any differences between the 821 and 939 versions?

That would be wonderful if the ECU could be repaired.. A new one is $2000...
I don't remember if Kuksul08 ever repaired a dash, but he's an extremely talented engineer. Just DM him. He still gets alerts from this site.
