2016 Hyperstrada speedometer off?

I can pretty confidently say that all bikes with Bosch ABS get their speed from the ABS sensors. We could have new ABS rings with 8% fewer pulses made over 1 revolution, and it would correct the speedo, and ABS would still work perfectly.

This... is an interesting thought.

Some of you may know that I was unable to put a 14T sprocket on my hyper because it would hit the rev limiter in 2nd gear only at 8,000RPM. I wonder if there is a way to fool it with different tone rings.

With the recent discussion about tire traction affecting things, have you tried it with different tires? I forget, but did you try slowly running up the revs in 2nd?

Definitely not a traction thing. DTC was off when I tried it. I would slowly increase RPMs by barely rolling on the throttle. Right at 8000 the red light comes on solid and it won't accelerate. Feels like a soft rev limiter. But... it was fine in 1st, 3rd, and 4th gears...

Told my dealer about it and they were so puzzled. I still have no idea what it is.

Have you had your throttle assy. changed since then?

Mine is WAY off. I just got the bike a week ago and I'm calling the dealer. I think it's off like 20% or more.
