4.3 gallon tank ......... NOT!!

Flawed design obviously.

With the components that go into any design: Don't pay much, Don't get much.

Over 320,000 miles on my 4Runner with running on empty warning with nearly every tank. Serious lean angles that would starve the fuel and oil pump, without good design. Never any issues.

I'd say it was working just as they engineered it by allowing them to use a cheaper part :) I also never had that problem with previous cars, I knew exactly how many miles I could get out of my old honda accord. Being a poor college student this was important :)

Someone would have to drop a fuel pump to see where the input is. Heck, I don't even see a filter or even a screen.

Caution to anyone who pulls the fuel pump cover off. The way Duc snaked the fuel line in the cover makes it an unimaginable pain in the *** to line back up correctly and get the cover to seat fully. It almost brought me to tears.

Sometimes it's easy for me, other times hard. It all depends on how the fuel line decides to sit underneath the tank, It's quite easy once the fuel line is in it's little clip. Which is easier said than done.

It seemed like such an easy task, until I tried lining the bolts back up and getting those tiny nuts (giggity) to bite some thread. So many dropped...

Thanks for the warning on this.
Could it be possible that a mech who has done the factory schools would have a better, easier way to get round this nightmare? I've worked with Pro's who showed me ways to do things that blew my mind. (feel so stupid once you see "The WAY" :D)
