Alternative Panniers

Unfortunately my Hyper was not sold with the panniers - the dealer chased the previous owner, but no joy...

I used my old Oxford panniers last week for a trip to the Isle of Man, but they just sort of dangled inwards.

Are their any alternatives out there which I should consider?

I would look at SW Motech Blaze panniers. I have used them on previous bikes and they are great.

The same panniers also fit the Hypermotard 821, and it says they fit the Hyperstrada though I am not 100% confident that the grab rail on the Hyperstrada would not get in the way (the Hypermotards do not have this).

Just put a set on my Hypermotard 939SP for a trip in a month. Fit is great on a Motard but a Strada would be compromised as the mounting bolts for the grab rail are used by the SW Motech mounting plate I believe.

Nope. Here is a pic of my bike. I only ride the Ducati on the weekends sometimes. I can't mount the panniers with this exhaust.

I went with the Givi 30 liter Dolomiti cases. They lack handles for pulling and taking into a hotel room but otherwise, they've been great. I have pics on the forum if you want to see how they look installed. Good luck...

So you took your windshield off too? I took mine off after a month. It's pretty useless and the bike looks a lot better with it gone anyway.

I ordered he HyperMotard stay. Just waiting for it to be delivered.

What did you do in place of the windshield?

I put the Ducati carbon fiber headlight fairing on the bike. I think it looks a lot better but be warned while fine around town if you get up to speed on the freeway you are getting a heavy blast into the chest. I actually thought the stock screen did a pretty good job but I went for a more street fighter bike. Not going to tour on it as I have another bike for that.

Got it. I just went with the stock Hypermotard one.

The windscreen did more of a disservice than anything for me. When I would jump on it quick to run do a quick errand, if not wearing a helmet (I know, I know) the air coming off of the windscreen would blast me right in the face. Anything above 30mph and my eyes would water excessively. Took it off and now the issues is completely gone.

I ride to work 12 miles each way on hwy. I wear gear w/ helmet and it's not until about 80mph that it even gets a little cumbersome. So I think it's a good trade-off. It looks better and I don't get wind to the face w/o it.

I may just end up leaving the windshield one on there so I can mount the windscreen easily whenever I want. It's not really a big deal having those mounts up front. People who don't know the bike won't even know that it's not right :)
