Anyone else still on their stock battery? I have a '14 821 and it's still perfect.

Have never used a tender (I do ride even in winter months when it's nice out (Denver, CO) and I've been waiting for it to die to replace as I've always had bad luck w bike, scooter and even car batteries.
I do have a Cyclops LED Headlight bulb and LED license plate lights but can't imagine it would make that big a difference.

Just curious.

Maybe I just jinxed myself haha.

Hey Count. I had no issues with my stocker. Ran it for about 3 years. Replaced for weight.

Five years, original battery, probably the only thing that hasn't given any trouble. Although now that i have mentioned it.........:(

Just replaced mine. It likely would've been fine if I had ridden the bike in the last year. Sometimes, work sucks...

Mine was starting to be sluggish after 6 years. Went to lithium, it's ok but goes flat when left for three weeks, immobilized Must kill it. Stock battery I could leave for over 4 weeks with no bother

Stock battery here. 2014 Hypermotard SP. Still starting fine. I have the denso starter, this would help though. Thinking about switching to a Lithium when it's time.

Replaced my original for a new Yuasa, after five years and 13000 miles. Old one is still okay, but I could sense it weakening and didn't want any issues so replaced it early.. didn't want to dying battery spreading any dying ideas to any other parts, sensors etc. It's a fairy ⚡

Just an Update a year and a half later I'm still on the original and it really shows no signs of age or slow starting. Should I quit rolling the dice and get a new one? I've plugged a tender in a few times this year as a "treat"

Stock battery on my 2018 was doing fine, but I put it into my 2015 base when I sold it, it was an excuse to upgrade to lithium. Only had that battery for a year now but no issues so far but I generally ride the bike no less than twice a month, and usually more frequently so there's no issue maintaining a charge.

PSA - I've experienced a couple unusual phenomena with my Hyper that ultimately related to bad battery/ low charge. Bad starter, bad ECU, bad coils, dead dash, more. If you haven't found the "BATT" monitor on your maintenance dash, check it out. I had a Shorai LiPo for almost 5 years and it was amazing. Recently, experienced some very odd things and turned out to be a battery that wouldn't retain its charge anymore. It would accept a full charge, indicated so on the dash, thumb the starter, and it would immediately lose 2 volts, and boot the ECU software each time. This registered as excessive draw, maybe parasitic draw as it sat. Nope. Bad battery.

"Batt" monitor on maintenance dash? oooooooo... more details pls. I'm still on stock from 2016. Sometimes i have to thumb it twice if the bike has sat for a while, but other than that - no issues. (knocks on wood).

On Gen 1, if you hold lower menu scroll button for maybe 5 seconds on left control group, you enter a maintenance sub menu. Check it out. You can monitor RPM, Battery level, reset the dash backlight back to low (defaults high). There's even a lap timer that Ive never used
