Okay this is what I sent Ducati of North America.

To whom it may concern,

I Brayan Steven Gomez owner of the 2014 Ducati Hyperstrada 821cc VIN:ZDM1YBTS5EB006964 PLATE:5988RC-FL MILES: 5,139. Would like to get answers from someone, this bike was purchased on December 2014 with 2.0 miles brand new. I have no taken this bike to the track i do not use this bike off road i have not done any modifications. I planned on keeping this bike forever i cherished it was a dream come true.

My first "BREAK IN" service was done at Euro cycles when the bike had 823.0 MILES on 2/4/2015 REPAIR ORDER NUMBER 25784. While the bike was in the shop i advised JEFF ZAMBRUSK that i had brake fluid leaking from the reservoir. I paid for the service and the brake reservoir was fixed under warranty.

My second service at Euro Cycles of Tampa Bay was on 6/30/2015 REPAIR ORDER NUMBER 26971. This time i advised JASON MCKAY "SERVICE MANAGER" that my coolant seemed low and my coolant hose was leaking along with my brake reservoir & it had a oil leak. He advised me that they found the "RADIATOR CLAMP SLIGHTLY LEAKING, RE-TORQUED CLAMP- NO MORE LEAKS FOUND". In regards to the oil leak he advised me i would need a new cylinder head gasket. In regards to brake reservoir he replaced the brake cap. All services were covered under warranty. At this time the vehicle had 3,696.0 miles it went in for service on 6/30/2015 i got it back 7/24/2015.

My third service was due to THROTTLE CONTROL REPLACEMENT (RECALL). REAR TAG BULB INOP. REAR BRAKES WERE SOFT. This was on 7/24/2015 REPAIR ORDER NUMBER 26971 MILES: 3,696.

My fourth service at Euro Cycle was due to a nail on my tire. As a loyal customer to Ducati & Euro cycles i went to them after calling around and getting a cheaper price for same brand tire at Pinellas Power Sports located at 9145 66th St N, Pinellas Park, FL 33782. REPAIR ORDER NUMBER: 27434 on 9/2/2015. MILES: 5,139.0 REPAIR ORDER 27434

My fifth service at Euro Cycles was due to the fact that on 9/07/2015 the bike would not start. MILES 5163 REPAIR ORDER 27474 SERVICED 9/08/2015. I did a quick check my fuel was good, my oil seemed milky and when i started the bike it would give off a sweet smell and would die after running for 10 seconds. I attempted this 3 times i did not want to ruin anything so i proceeded to contact Ducati ROAD SIDE. They advised me that the bike will be brought to Euro Cycles at no charge covered by warranty. This time they told me it was the head gasket, their explanation for this service was due to "bad fuel" or "water in the fuel system". Euro Cycles then advised me that i would need to pay a total of $2,296.76. I told them i would not pay that amount because the bike just got a head gasket done and i only get quality fuel from know gas stations.

After contacting Ryan customer service manager of Ducati of North America (408) 253-0499) he also advised that Ducati would not take care of the bill due the bad fuel. He then told me to file a claim with the gas station where i get fuel. As soon as he advised me of my options i went to WAWA gas station on Pinellas park, FL where they have me video taped getting gas and paying with my debit card. I filed a claim to get this resolved on 10/02/2015 i faxed all the information over to Euro Cycles, i later called to confirm that the fax was received it was, this again was on 10/02/2015. I get a call from Euro Cycles of Tampa Bay on 10/08/2015 telling me that they need me to send the paper work again. I find it to be outrageous, the lack of customer service at this place is incredibly poor. Not only did i not get a loaner bike while my bike is getting serviced, but they are lacking communication. How is it that it takes the service manager a week to get in touch with me and notify me that he "MISPLACED" my form. At this point and time im disappointed with the customer service both DUCATI OF NORTH AMERICA & Euro Cycles of Tampa Bay have provided. Not only have i not had my vehicle for a month now but i had to make a payment on a vehicle i do not have and probably wont have for another month due to the lack of work ethic at their service department. I will be getting a lawyer i have been very understanding, very polite but apparently that gets you no where. Its a shame such a reputable brand such as Ducati can have such poor customer service. I always dreamed of owning one of these vehicles now im only dreaming of the day i can get rid of this vehicle. This motorcycle was not free, i paid MSRP on the bike i made all my payments. This has got to come to end and someone has to give me answers.

I don't see how bad fuel would cause a head gasket leak. Doesn't make sense to me.

It's a known problem that people have had oil leak from the cylinder bolts, but I don't think I've heard of head gasket leaks.

Yeah, bad fuel, that's doesn't sound right. Plus they would need to be able to prove that you used bad fuel. Which is unlikely.

From what you say about the coolant issues, I would be inclined to point the finger at some kind of over heating issue...

Good luck.

Imho.... Seems to me, if the shop already replaced the same head gasket, either they didn't get it all torqued quite right or something, or else that head or cylinder is out of tolerance.... whatever you do, don't give up. This is a mechanical problem that can be solved and I believe and hope that Ducati will eventually back you up, but you have to be a really squeaky wheel.

Very sorry for your troubles with this beautiful bike.

Tell Ducati to prove that the fuel is bad, and that the last tech who worked on your bike torqued everything to spec, or that his torque wrench is calibrated properly...

there is nothing worse than a new bike in the shop... I called corporate ducati usa and my bike was fixed the next day.. Bikes are mechanical and break I understand that... but it really stinks when it happens.. luckily mine has been flawless since.. good luck

almost 4 weeks have passed since the first post and no activity since...
I wonder what the actual status is.
