Bike running rich

I fitted the SC Project CRT exhaust without mapping and it pops and crackles like mad on the over run.
I've heard varying reports from saying you must remap to those that say it is not required

So what would be the general consensus with regard to this remap or not required ?

On a side note, I have to say that since installing the SC the bike runs much smoother with none of the surging I used to experience with the stock exhaust.

No. That's not correct. Accelerating puts more pressure on the rings and helps them seat in with the bores.
