Can't clutch to neutral below 45 degrees

Anyone else have an issue getting the bike into neutral when it's cold? It pops i n fine without it running, but once I'm riding it she simply won't go into neutral. I'm noticing that when it's 40 and below all of the gears are a bit tight so I'm thinking the cold is to blame.

I could adjust the clutch, but I'm really happy with where that's at right now and don't want to fiddle with it for no reason.

No problems on mine down to the teens. You mentioned you didn't want to adjust the clutch, but that would be the 1st step I'd take. If it didn't help and made shifting worse you can always set it back. I hate to potentially start an oil thread, but are you running something heavier than 10/40?

Yeah, just being lazy really as it really didn't start until it turned cold. I'm running whatever weight oil the dealer puts in, should probably pay attention, but it's not cold for long enough here to really worry about the oil I don't think.

I'll adjust this weekend and see if I can get it straightened out. Thanks for the feedback. Riding down to the teens... damn, when it's in the 30s hwy speeds are almost torture, can't imagine the teens. Aerostich can't get here soon enough.

+1 on the clutch. Its dragging slightly. Just adjust it and all will be fine. The cable does stretch on these bikes and it requires adjustment just like a chain does.

I usually have trouble getting into neutral when cold. After riding for just 20 seconds it is possible and never had any issues otherwise.

That was my experience, it just kept taking longer and longer to reach that warm spot... but it also kept getting colder.

Adjusted the cable this weekend and problem is gone. Of course, right after I started this thread all shifts were getting tight and by Friday it was pretty obvious that it wasn't the cold.
