Thank you for the welcome to a great forum. As usual I am in a dither, Monster 821 at the moment and like it. But, still missing the sit up and beg style which I have been used to for 30 years. Last one was a 1200gs Adv but I do not want to go heavy again and now that I am in Ducati land looking at the Hyperstrada. My riding mate has a Hypermotard which I like. We both travel very light so no need for panniers although the Strada ones look good. 25ltrs of waterproof bag for 12 days works well. I love the 821 motor, perfect for the Alps and not too thirsty. I think I am convincing myself.
Cheers,
Jules

You may notice a slight performance gap between the two. Although they share the same motor and transmission, the rear sprockets differ by 1 tooth. The Monster has a 46, with the Motard/Strada being a 45.

It's a great bike - get it and love it. The bags are surprisingly useful, and my guess is that you'll end up using them more than you thought.

I prefer HS to Monster even for a short trip.
Once you would set seat bag(bag on a pinion seat) it would be all right.
If you would have tandem rider, tank bag would support you.
Top case is convenient as I use, but it is not fashionable/smart.

Good luck

Panniers hold a full-face helmet. I prefer this to mounting on a seat or mirror stock. When I occasionally see a helmet on the ground because it fell off the bike, I cringe. I wouldn't put it past someone stealing a top of the line lid. Many riders are too trusting, leaving gear flaked all over their bikes in open lots.
