Hey all, first thread on here but wanted to make everyone aware of this issue as I narrowly escaped a bad day.
I am at about 1200miles on the strada now, but when I took it in for my first service (few days ago) The mechanic mentioned Ducati sent them an update for the ECU. Everything went as planned and I hopped back on my bike to leave the dealership when I noticed my throttle was absolutely unresponsive. Come to find out, the factory ECU update killed my ECU
Luckily they had a demo unit so they robbed the ECU out of that one and put it into mine and I rode the hour and 1/2 back home... BUT... had they not had an extra you could imagine how differently my day would have gone...
Soooo moral of this story/reason behind the post is:
IF/WHEN you bring your precious hyper back to a dealer... id ask if they are updating the ECU and if they say "YES" id ask.... "how many backup ECU's do you have available if it doesnt work"
