ECU Update WARNING!!!

Hey all, first thread on here but wanted to make everyone aware of this issue as I narrowly escaped a bad day.

I am at about 1200miles on the strada now, but when I took it in for my first service (few days ago) The mechanic mentioned Ducati sent them an update for the ECU. Everything went as planned and I hopped back on my bike to leave the dealership when I noticed my throttle was absolutely unresponsive. Come to find out, the factory ECU update killed my ECU :(

Luckily they had a demo unit so they robbed the ECU out of that one and put it into mine and I rode the hour and 1/2 back home... BUT... had they not had an extra you could imagine how differently my day would have gone...

Soooo moral of this story/reason behind the post is:

IF/WHEN you bring your precious hyper back to a dealer... id ask if they are updating the ECU and if they say "YES" id ask.... "how many backup ECU's do you have available if it doesnt work" :)

I just brought mine in for it's first service. I asked the tech to please update the computer with the latest software. I told him the forum said there's been two updates since the bike came out. He later called me back to the shop and showed me the main computer which showed no new updates available. What gives?

The factory ECU update also disabled my throttle. I now have the demo bike ECU in my bike now. The Dealer said I can keep the demo ECU.

I have no complaints about my software. If there's known flaws with the DTC or ABS, I couldn't pick them out in a line-up.

I bought the bike 3 weeks ago, and no update in UK as of june 3rd. It has the latest software.
