Engine casing crack

All I can say is I have 0.0 mm of "chicken strip" on my PR3's and have never drug a single metal part. Rear is pretty stiff and I always set up my turns before I enter. I also only go max lean on turns I know well...take that for what it's worth.

I weight 185 lbs, so not the lightest buck out there. Typically carry at least 10 lbs in the bags, evenly distributed. I guess blasting into an off-camber hairpin, crushing the brakes, swapping on the saddle and getting back on the juice may have different results. But I would personally save that for the track...or buy a much different class of bike. 2 cents.

I wonder if maybe your suspension setting is too soft and thats why your bottoming out.

well Ducati Italy said no to the warranty claim :-(

Insurance it is then ....taking the stand off completely when i get her back

2months without my bike been tougher than i thought

feel the need for blast very soon.

Watched your video and the reason it scraped is because you hit a bump! It was not lean angle, just heavy load and hitting a bump. Ducati can't be blamed for bad roads!

f you mean the ducati video i posted - you should drive on our roads in the alps.
if this is ok that a bike scrapes in such a sítuation at such low angle, most roads would have scratches in each second curve :D.

I've been reading through this thread and when I first got the Hyper, scraped both sides, then I tweaked the rear pre-load and all was fine. I have a low model and after about 3 months (after I changed the obvious pre-load) there was a recall for this....the solution was to put a sticker on the tank (and in the manual) to say make sure you set your pre-load accordingly!

It's common sense really, just like adjusting tyre pressures. You should adjust preload depending on whether you have a pillion and or luggage, that's why it's an easy remote preload knob!

I had a fully loaded trip to the alps and never had a problem after setting it up properly...and I m know to give the bike some serious stick on the bends! Also remember the type of bike you are riding, don't treat it like a sports bike and crank it right over, treat it more like a super moto or enduro bike where you sit right up front and push it down in the corners with your body more upright, it will reward you!
