Exhaust Valve Removal is a must!###

You should still think about an Akra IMO. Looks amazing, way better than stock, and pops wonderfully on deceleration.

Couldn't agree more. I have same set up now as Jokeshopbeard.
Exhaust valve disconnected has totally transformed the bike. No more heavy engine braking and has all but eradicated the surging issue I was experiencing.
Totally fallen in love with the bike again and the exhaust note from the Akra is just heaven.

Managed to pick my up for about £450-500 buying from Europe using eBay.

It's worth mentioning that the can comes separate from the link pipe - they do a version with cat and a version without.

You know I honestly couldn't tell you. I don't think I've ever looked at MPG figures. I'm kinda irresponsible about such things, I just like having as much fun as possible whatever the cost!!

Noobie here, how do you remove it?

Many other threads explain the disconnect but it is down at exhaust below the passenger seat. Just turn the key and listen for the valve and you will know where it lives. Remove 2 bolts and lossen the cable, let it hang loose. replace cover and bolts. Some like to remove the servo but I kind of enjoy the weewoo noise at startup. On my 15' Hyper 821 it makes the exhaust louder at RPM's above about 3k+. I think the valve partially closes at various throttle openings but NOT at idle. Driveability about the same except I have noticed a slightly snappier response at higher rpm (6k+). Much better sound from the stock exhaust now as my SO says the dog can hear me about 1/4 mile away after the switch. Easy to put it back to stock if you want. Try it out!
