Fabbri Windshield vs Ducati Carbon

Ok, finally received the Fabbri and set about chopping the top off.

I first tried to use the measurements provided in this thread but it proved too complex so I went for the simple approach.
1) Took a template of the top of the current screen (wrapped card around the screen and drew around the screen on the card)
2) Put painters tape on the Fabbri
3) Cut out the template and stuck it to the Fabbri screen (positioning took a wee while)
4) Drew round the template, then removed it to see the resulting outline
5) Cut round the line with a dremel, then sanded down with a dremel
6) Final sandpaper by hand to remove imperfections along the edges
7) Final polish with the dremel polishing bit and some polish around the edges
Took about 2 hours start to finish

The back of the screen is polished so if this causes a problem I'll give it a light sanding to dull it down....and I took the damn sticker off.
Which wheel or bit did you use in the dremel to cut your Fabbri

Cut off wheel 420. Tried a metal small tooth but it was too aggressive. Sanded with 120 grit sanding band then went to hand using 180 wet n dry

Awesome - how did you mold the plastic?

you can do this easily by warming it in backing oven.
i did this many years ago for my former BMW R100GS.

Ok sounds easy enough. What do you place it on to get support it and cause it to bend to the shape you want?

i used paperboard, but you can use any other material which you can form as you like.
I do not know the temperature any more i used in the oven, so, do not start too hot first - i think about 90-100°C/194-212°F should be fine and just as long until it begins to be formable.

any chance to get a template of the carbón fiber ducati´s windshield??

got the touring one and i´m thinking about reshaping it, to much noise for me with the touring one
