My first impression was strong enough that I rode my KTM to the dealer literally the next day to trade it on the Hyperstrada - and I love KTM's
I had seen the spy shots and rumours of a liquid cooled Hypermotard, so when I saw the Hyperstrada I knew I was looking at my new bike. It was as simple as this: it has everything that I want in a bike:
-large supermotard - i.e. twin cylinder above 800cc with motard ergos and performance
-"creature comforts", like a decent seat
-ability to carry clothing, food, etc
-a respectable fuel capacity for a motard
-top end components [I need my Brembos!]
-a great look
-a good dealer network in Canada
The only other bike on the market that meets these critera is the KTM 990 SMT, but it's not available in Canada, so it really was a no brainer for me. Plus, I think the Duc is a better looking bike and is cheaper too.
