Front wheel air in Sport Mode?

Anyone have this happen. With bike in Sport mode under hard acceleration the front wheel lifts off the ground up to 4th gear.
isn't TC supposed to prevent this?
Is it because I run the TKC80s?

It all depends on your dtc level. I can do small wheelies in dtc 3 no problem. Any higher and it starts preventing them.

There’s a road near me with alot of whoopydoo hills and if take it at 65-70 I come up in a wheelie cresting the tops but I haven’t noticed the hard take off wheelies before.
I guess it can be the road surface too. Come to think of it it might be that each time I’ve experienced this is over in Delaware where the roads are all newly paved and nice.

I suspect the bike doesn't realize the wheel is coming up if it happens when the road shifts. I can get the wheel up about a foot or so if I give the bike a little gas at a crest on the road. I also think that in sport mode (or race on the SP) the TC level isn't as aggressive.

I keep coming back to the tires. The TKC80s wear down fast. The rear one does anyway.
At some point they seem to start wearing faster and faster and I have the suspicion that this fakes out the TC. Or confuses it.
I noticed that when the tire is new the TC light comes on alot and almost constantly during acceleration. Now it hardly ever comes on and I’m getting wheelying I didn’t have before.

The TC seems as though it is very sensitive to tire wear. As the diameter reduces with wear the TC can’t compensate because it assumes a fixed size perhaps.

We had a long amateur engineering debate on wheelie's and DTC. I don't think our DTC gives two ***** if your wheel is in the air. It only measure wheel speed on the driven wheel. Newer top end bikes specifically have "Wheelie Control" as a feature, and I'm pretty sure this involves a more expensive axis monitoring TC control unit.
The new V4S has a setting to let you slide the rear by using multi-axis control inputs.

I can wheelie no problem with DTC 3. As long as the rear meat is sticking and on table with RPM/ speed table, it won't stop a wheelie.

I don't know how our DTC works but I do know how some traction controls use differences in wheel speed between the front and the back tire to know to cut the power, perhaps this is how they do it and the DTC setting is a variable gain setting the tweaks the traction control algorithm?

I'm going to play around with different TC settings for the sake of comparison. I'll watch how much it comes on during hard acceleration for each change.
I doubt it has any sort of adaptive algorithm and however it works it's a static operation.
So the factors that can change in regards to it are the tires and road conditions.
I'll also try hard acceleration on new DE roads and slick greasy PA roads for each TC change.

And finally I'm down to about half tread on the rear now so I'll soon get to compare these results with a new tire.
