Fuel overflow normal

Hi all have noticed on a few occasions when I have filled my hyper if left on the side stand it leaks what seems to be a fair bit of fuel for a fair while anyone else"s bike do this ? I usually fill it to the brim once and its not as though I keep topping it off after that ??

Yes, if you removed or don't have the evaporative canister they will overflow on the ground via the tank vent hose

Well I certainly haven't removed anything so what is the purpose of this canister? Is it fitted to all models of Hyperstrada or just region specific ? Are there any advantages/disadvantages of keeping/removing the canister?

Just seen in other post UK version does not have it fitted

When filling you are to have your bike on its side stand and stop when is just below the ring say 1/4". That is unless you are on a ride and won't be stopping for a while. If you are sitting on the bike when fueling and fill to the ring it will dump fuel if you put it on a side stand. If the bike is outside in the heat the fuel will expand and go out the overflow if over filled. The manual talks about were to stop when fueling. Yes it happened to me too.
