Has anyone fitted a Gipro gear indicator? It connect via the diagnostic port and I was wondering if anyone on the forum had any experience with one.

i have it, works really fine. i am very happy with it.

Im interested in some opinions on these as well. Aussiehyper there is a company in Aus that sells them - Digital Gear Indicators
$180. doesnt seem too bad if it works as described..

Hi

I have just fitted Gipro indicator. It was easy to fit. I did not pick up the switched power supply from the fuse block as suggested but from another wire I had previously installed. The wiring "loom" was long enough to reach the diagnostic port but the wire for the switched supply could have been a bit longer.

If this works the link should show the indicator in neutral

This link should show the diagnostic port.

So far in use it has saved me going for 7th gear a couple of times!

thanks for the pics, saves me to go into the garage and make extra pics for the forum ;-)

is yours a white one ?

i have a red one, and on the other side of the dashboard ;)

I'm just admiring those adjustable front forks!

Been wanting to install a GIPro for a while. Some of the purists will argue it's not necessary but the way I ride, I want optimum launches at certain speeds and need to know what gear I'm in right now. It's much harder to tell with twins than I-4's, in my opinion. The rpm spread can be so small between lower gears on this bike.

UK price was around £100. Probably around €120. I appreciate that there is a $ price in th thread.

I also have a Mupo rear shock.

Given the close nature of the ratios knowing which gear you are in can help when making snap decisions on overtaking. It also stops me hunting for 7th!

Yes it's the white one. Mine was mounted on the left to help with the wiring run.

I can also add a quick shifter to my Rapidbike Evo. Think it's time to upgrade...
