Hi All,
First post on this forum anyway. Picked up a new 2015 Hyperstrada today.
When I ordered it 3 weeks back I asked for heated grips and lowered seat.
Phoned yesterday to check it would be ready and during the conversation was told the bike would not have a lowered seat since for 2015 there was only ONE model - red, standard seat height, reduced fork travel etc etc - and a take it or leave it attitude from the dealer.
Well I took it and having lots to do, rode home and left it in the garage. When I get back from my lots to do I'll get out the tape measure and let you know.
I'll also be going back to the dealer:mad:
Whatever; I think Hyperstradas are real spiffy machines and I've had a few other bikes for comparison in my 69 years on this planet.

Hi Andrew. Congratulations on getting your new Hyperstrada and welcome to this great forum! I have a new 2014 Hyperstrada that I picked up from the dealer on June 6th. They are great little bikes and hopefully we'll both have a lot of fun on our respective mounts.

My understanding is that from 2015 onwards the Hyperstrada is sold with the lowered suspension which is why there may no longer be the lowered seat. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

I have one(the seat)and it was a waste of time.....

They are a great bike!! So welcome to this maddness.

Welcome Andrew to the forum, only thing that would make your first post better would be adding a photo of you with the bike with a s#^t eating grin ear to ear.. Haha

As far as the lowered seat, they are available in the Ducati Performance accessories book, but from what I've read, no one likes the foam.

Welcome Ashewan, and enjoy your new bike! It is a really fun ride,... just wait until you have it broken in and your first service done, and then don't baby it anymore after that. I agree with some others that post on here that this particular tool does better when pushed a little bit harder. I even feel like my suspension got better once it had some more miles on it. I would have switched the fork internals to a Mupo kit earlier, had I had the funds for it, but now I don't suffer from that same stiffness/twitchiness that I did early on, so all is good...!

As for seats, I have been interested in trying the racing seat that some here seem to prefer, but, no decision yet...

you still can buy a lower seat separatly. i suppose it will fit on the 2015 model also.

Update on got one today but not sure what I got!

Update: Model I have is the 'sella bassa': floor to pan ~16cm, seat height ~82cm. Nothing else available in the UK, supposedly and if I wanted the 'tall' version then Ducati would build one 'for a price'; according to the dealer.
Question now is how to stop grinding away the brake pedal. Up the pre load? Adjust the brake pedal height?
Andrew

A couple of turns of pre-load will sort you out! I've got a low and love it. Probably the best bike I've ever ridden on Alpine and Scottish country roads!

Bring it north ;):)
