heated Gear - yes or no?

1st: The powerlet uses a different tech from gerbling - might or might not make a difference - if you can, test them both.I'm very happy with the powerlet deep infrared.

2) I wire directly to the battery. The powerlet outlets are rated a total of 10amps - which is 120 watts. I think it's 5 amps per socket. Regardless, you're right on the edge if you turn your jacket to max.
