Picked up a new 2014 Hyperstrada here in Bangkok last month. Love it so far even in the heat. Great in the City even winding around all the stopped traffic.

This is the third Ducati I have owned, and definitely the best one so far. Seems to be ok even in the excessive heat. Can get a bit toasty around the legs just a bit below the seat. But all in all a good ride.

The nice part is they are built here in Thailand by Ducati, so it cuts out the excessive Thai import taxes.

Welcome Big Mango,

I too live in Bkk and got a HS recently. I'm really happy with it so far and was also happy with the heat levels when waiting at lights.

I haven't managed to get out of Bkk on it so far, hopefully soon! But have been through torrential rain and slight flooding already.

Nice to hear from you.

I got stuck in heavy traffic last weekend, no way to wind around the cars, so got stuck, and the bike got seriously hot just below the seat. Left leg felt like it was going to melt.

Welcome, from Hua Hin.
We don't suffer that much from traffic down here, except when all you Bangkok people visit us over the long weekends, so not too big problems with heat here.

But the heat on the upper thighs can be painful sometimes. Got stuck for 5 minutes at a red light in April. 40 degrees in the air. I almost jumped the light...

Good to know it was not just me burning up. Had to squirm around in the seat a bit. Not sure how accurate the air temp on the bike is but it was showing 50 on the hot pavement stuck in traffic with the heat off the pavement, the sun, and all the other vehicles.

The engine or the cooling, whichever, does throw out a lot of heat, but you get used to it. I was on a monster 1200 for a test ride, and felt the same issue there, too.
