Hey everyone! New here and thinking about a Hyperstrada for around town/light weight adventuring. I test drove one a few years ago and liked it. I was thinking about a naked standard, but after driving the Monster 821 just found it not to my liking.

I'm currently on a 2014 BMW R1200GS and I love it. Hard to beat for 400-500 mile days, but i would like another Duc and I think this one best meets my needs for the day adventures.

The dealer here has a 2013 HS. Demo, low mile specimen I think.
What is a good out the door price to shoot for?

Thank you and hello. Nice trio of bikes. Is the HS working well for you... Never mind, I see your other post. :)

I really like it except the suspension, I have the LOW version though, and I have never like the suspension on any bike. I always have the suspension done for my weight and riding style......

I had a Multistrada w/o Skyhook and was able to get the stock front suspension dialed in.
Didn't help that the rebound damping was set completely different on each fork tube.

I test drove the base 821 (uses the same front forks? - not sure), but the front end feel was a little harsh and upset over rough pavement. I'll be interested to see hear your thoughts on suspension and what you decide to do.

Thanks again for the welcome.

That's exactly what I am experiencing harshness in the front and it's being upset over rough pavement. I actually feel like it's beating me up some.

Sometimes they just need to take a set, but I see you've got over 7k on your bike.
I'm heavier @ 165lbs, so it's likely worse for you on the stock.

Too bad some manual rebound/compression damping isn't included in the front. :(
Good luck, sounds like you got an experienced shop to help.

Thanks! I'm reading up on these threads to get the suspension sorted out. I have only had the bike for a month or so. I bought it used with 7090 miles.

A proper intro requires a pic of the new ride. :)

Got a great deal on a very low mileage demo 2013.
Ya know.. the fast/white ones. ;)

Put almost a hundred miles on it, gave it a once over close inspection, adjusted the chain, spring reload, levers, air pressure in tires etc to my liking.

Initial impressions are very good. Quick, flickable, great brakes, smooth motor and after sorting out the rear preload, it improved settling into corners.
Front shocks on both the demo model I test drove, my near new HS vs the Monster 821 are better feeling. Suspension actually feels pretty good for my weight (165lbs). Never felt unsettled and didn't po-go over harsh pavement/ripples like the 821.

I'll be driving it up to Austin next weekend for the US GP @ COTA. It's about 120 miles for me one way, so I'll see how I feel on an extended weekend.

Only issue I've had so far is getting the left side pannier off. It eventually came of but I had to work it for a while.

Pretty solid 'little' scooter. Feels tiny compared to the GS. ha!

Good choice. Def the fastest color combo. You'll take half second off your trap speed when you remove frame stickers, too.

Lot's of good info on making the bags work on here. Perfectly vertical pull with a little tap from the bottom helps, too.

Enjoy!
