Hello,

Just picked up a white '14 Hyperstrada yesterday! Coming from a ZX6R and my back just can't take the riding position anymore, so the comfort of the strada is a real breath of fresh air. Rest of my bike history includes a street triple, cbr500, cbr250 and ninja 250. Have about 100 miles on the strada so far and overall it's great. Some things I want to improve are the windscreen, it seems to put the windblast right at my neck, which is not useful, as the air then shoots up the front of my helmet on the inside lol. I'll probably just take it off completely until I can get a good aftermarket option. I also have a weird thing going on where if the bike sits still the front end starts smoking. It looks like there's a little hose going into the exhaust pipe under the radiator that is where the smoke is coming from. There's a light burning smell as well and I'm unsure what's going on, I wouldn't think that would be the "new bike" smell because I'm 100 miles in. I intend to post a more detailed description of that issue in the mechanical forum soon. Look forward to meeting my fellow owners!

Welcome man, nice intro. I hear you on the riding position coming from a super sports. The 'strada is often a lot more fun, if not for having the sheer thrill of an I-4 at high revs.

Be sure to detail that smoking issue - it sounds very suspicions..

I checked it out a little bit and it looks like it may be a slow oil leak. Filter is soaked and the area around it is soaked. I saw a few threads on here about the filter gasket being loose so I may have that issue, but that doesn't seem to explain to me how it would be getting on the front of my exhaust and burning off. I called the dealer which is 80 miles away and they're going to come down, pick it up, take it back and fix it, then re deliver it to me for free since it shouldn't have left the dealer with a leak. Good service still exists in Ohio, I guess! I'll share with everyone what ended up being the issue when I get it back.

I'm from Cincinnati too, welcome! Maybe I'll finally see another Hyper riding around :D

New to the forum as well. Have a 14 strada and from Georgetown so we are almost neighbors. Don't see many stradas here. Seen 1 or 2 motards but thats about it.

Once I get mine back from the oil leak affair we will have to meet up at a bike night or something and ride guys! I've only actually seen 2 duc's around period, a multi one of my coworkers has and a blue/white diavel that turns up at Quaker steak sometimes.

Haven't posted in a while, but I'm in the Cincy area somewhat. Glad to see more Hypers in the area.
