I appreciate being accepted to the forum! I'm about 4 months away from getting my very first Ducati. Got my eye on a Hyperstrada and Hypermotard SP at the local dealer. I'm very excited to read all of the reviews on each bike. Seems I really can't go wrong.

I look forward to reading you guys post and learning all I can.

Hey rider 48,welcome! First off , i got my Hyperstrada two days ago and did a 200 kms on some twisty roads here in the Philippines, all i can say is that this bike does what it says on the reviews i've been reading ,so nimble, very light, comfy, and the power is perfect for any kind of riding. I've tried sitting on one of the Hyper SP's and that bike was just too tall for me,being 5'7". Anyway, figure out what kind of riding you'll be doing and then decide,i do quite a few long trips that's why i got the Strada, good luck and you can't go wrong on either one.

Thanks duc821, I'm happy to hear your good review of the Strada. I'm 6'0 and have only had a chance to sit on each bike, yes the SP is quite a bit taller. I'm not looking to start out making long trips but would eventually like to get there. The only negative I've found so far on these bikes is that some people seem to think the clutch may be an issue for some riders. I've ridden alot in my time, however not much lately, so I'm essentially getting "back in the game". Have you had any issues with getting familiar with the clutch on your Strada?

Good talking with you and happy riding!

Hey cobra, glad to know there are other Ducati lovers in the area! Hopefully we'll run into each other in the DFW area, figuratively of course :)

Thanks jamiesk! I'm 4 months out myself...for the money! :) Hang in there, we'll make it soon!

Yes, we will be there some day  I have various hyperstrada pics on my work desktop, just to remind me why I go to work!!

Rider, I hadn't ridden in about 12 years and the clutch felt like a clutch. It's a little grabby, or "on/off", which isn't so bad until it stretches a little and needs adjustment. I will admit that adjusting back to spec is painful - it's very particular about amount of slack.

But man, when you get the launch from a light down it just grabs and pulls hard. No post engagement lag. And I'll take the benefit of slipper clutch over smoother clutch without anyday.
