How are the headlights?

Headlights on bikes generally suck and I live out in the sticks with lots of deer...my wife hates me riding in the fall when they're rutting because she's afraid one will run out in front of me or worse, into me. I have some monster LED running lights on my Uly that completely wash out the 65W headlight, and a lot of other guys have put HID bulbs in with good effect. How are the stock lights on the HS? Has Ducati discovered something new and magical or will the bike require supplemental lighting?

The high beam at night is decent. It's a traditional type bulb but it is compact. I remember not liking the low beam difused pattern - seems kinda all over the place and washed out. I'm certainly interested in a HID upgrade. Kinda surprised it didn't come with one, or has this not caught on with bikes like upscale cars?

I guess the issue is the time it takes the ballast to warm up. If the low stayed on when the high was on it would work ok but switching back and forth might be an issue. I think.

You may want to put additional lighting on you're bike. The headlight on the hyper is good but but the pattern may be a little narrow for you're concerns.

I ride a lot at night and personally feel the stock lighting is meager at best. Anyone know of a good aftermarket set up? I'm thinking of Denalis D2 for supplemental lighting but where is a good place to mount the ballasts?

I have Rigid Industries Dually HD LEDs on my Uly and have them aimed together and down to a point just forward of my low beam. You can't even see the 65 watt halogen for the LEDs.

I drool over some of the adventure bike's with dual projectors. I don't ride a lot at night but headlights are like cow bell - I just need more. I'm not gonna cut up my Duc to mount something that will just shake enough to give me epileptic fits. Hopefully somebody offers a nice aftermarket setup for the Strada.
