Hey folks - was looking for a ministrada for a while after sitting on one at a dealer 3 years ago. Had wanted a Multi 950S or 1200S, but the hyperstrada just seemed so much lighter and agile... Long story short found a great deal in Irvine, ended up flying from norcal and riding ~9 hours back along some choice central CA twisties (pic of Lost Highway below).

I thought the seat was going to be really uncomfortable but it did surprisingly well, wasn't really uncomfortable till hour 7, I think? (it's not the hyperstrada seat, but a stock HM939 seat)

It needs a new rear tire but that's about it. Hilarious fun to ride - so much that I've sold my old Monster S4R.

Thanks! Definitely got to know the bike well... I think my quibbles are similar to most others here (tank range = tiny, suspension a little rough, clutch a little grabby when starting off and of course that low-RPM throttle response). That being said, it's waaay more comfy than the S4R, can take me to faraway twisties in relative comfort and still have tons of fun when I'm there.

Used to have the S4R and an f700gs in the garage at the same time - it feels like this handily replaces both of those!

That's a great way to get familiar with the new bike, congrats!

A tune will take care of the fueling issues for the most part. I've gotten used to the clutch which always makes my first few miles interesting when I jump on a different bike

I've heard about that - the Rapidbike seems to be pretty popular around here. Or would that booster plug do the trick? I'm not looking for power, just smoother low-rpm throttle behavior.

My first start of any ride on the hyper is always pretty jerky :p

Look into a tune, or just unplug the O2 sensors if you can tolerate the light.

Clutch judder spring will smooth out the grabby clutch - available on ebay.

Just read through your tuning thread - good stuff! Will have to look into a rapidbike.

Also, mine is a '16 so it should have the judder fix... I installed an EVR basket/clutch on my S4R, guess I'm used to that nice, smooth pick-up. (if the 'fix' is like this, the original must have been frustrating!)

Yeah, the '16 should have the new clutch design.
