Just a quick update for you all. I made tons of progress over this holiday break, and nearing the end of machining 12 kits. However the spindle on my machine just took a dump, so I've got probably a week delay and possibly $600 just to fix it... :(

Here's a couple teaser pics just so you know I'm actively working on it. Really itching to get this done before Christmas so I'm spending every spare minute on it.

It's like watching a special order car get made at the factory. Will all the hardware come painted flat black like the prototypes?

Pretty sure my best Christmas gift will be the one I bought myself! Hope your equipment holds up.

Yeah, it'll all be black using the same paint I've used before. It's a rich, dark black that matches the factory colors really well. :)

Thanks :)

So I finally got my machine up and running. The bearing replacement didn't work the first time as the spindle was binding and needed its tolerances adjusted. Probably the reason the bearings went out in the first place... Anyway, just now can continue on the parts. If after these 12 kits sell I have demand for more, I'm definitely going to outsource the machining to a local shop. I am not capable of doing them quickly enough. The good news is everything is going together so good now, I wouldn't change a thing. :)

Can you publish a queue for who will be getting these, please? I need to know if I should hide some funds ;-)

Hey all,

It has been a while, but I have good news! Finally got some sunny days and time off work to complete all the parts required to make some light kits. Now I just have to assemble, which is really the easy and fun part.

I am sure I've lost many of you due to taking so long, and I understand completely. It's been a learning process for me for sure - both from manufacturing and technical standpoints.

So anyway... I'm REALLY going to push to get 2 or 3 kits assembled by this weekend, and then work on the remaining. There will be 12 total.

Here's a pic of the parts laid out right before painting.

Kuk,
I'm still on board. Especially since my radiator mount leak came back...

Yeah man that's a bummer. When you posted up I got sorta paranoid and went and inspected my own setup. Looks perfect still, and like you I am constantly lofting the front end and riding over some pretty gnarly roads.

After looking at the area - I think it will be super easy to fix yours by welding a little fillet on the mounting lug and you will never see it under the plastic cover.

Ya, gonna try a sturdier non-welding compound. If that fails, I know a shop that will probably throw a little bead on it. It's not that serious but is making a mess of the lower left side and my left boot.

I have no doubt that your setup has distributed the load in a way that won't stress these mounts to failure.

I would love to rock a set of those aux lights, but the exchange rate right now is killing that dream quickly.

Beautiful job creating them.

Hi Kuksul08,
Eventhough I just purchased a new Multistrada enduro for long journey and kept my hypermotard 821 for track use only (with SP version suspension), I think I still want to have one of your light kit.

Just let me know when it would be my turn.

So I am going to go through the list where people showed interest and try to see who is still interested and go from there.

Did you put SP suspension on your base model? Do you still have the stock 'strada suspension? I've actually thought about stock 'strada suspension with cartridge for my SP lol.

Hi, do these work with the SP radiator guard? It looks like you have one installed too? If so I'd be interested in a set of lights if you end up with spares. Cheers

I'm not sure what the SP radiator guard is - I have the R&G, and it doesn't interfere. I think the Evotech will work also, but might need some care to ensure the mounting standoffs sit flush because it wraps around.
