I've ALWAYS wanted to ride out there! Closest I ever came was years ago through Death Valley on my old BMW K100 RS.

You should do it! Make a weekend trip out of it from your place. The back roads getting there are great riding. off the 15S take Hwy79 through Warner Springs to S2, to S22 (one of my FAVORITE roads EVER) to Borrego Springs.
When does it get too hot to do that ride, Rene? Is May okay, or is it already up in the triple digits?

This year it could get pretty hot down there in the Sonoran desert. I'd check the NWS site before I went, and ride it fairly early in the day. S22 is indeed a classic, but watch yourself if it's windy - I was once blown clear across the road to the opposite shoulder by a big gust. And that was on my 600 pound Triumph Trophy 3!

May is hit or miss. You just need to check the weather as the dates you could go approach. If we have a rain storm out there, we head out, since it cools things off.
Sounds incredible, Rene...glad you had a great time. I'm hoping to shoot out there before the end of the month! Depends on my work schedule, however...unfortunately, it may be ramping up again hours wise. Did you take any pics you can post, by chance?
