Insurance Doubling

Allstate - $450/year, thats Gold coverage with GAP and the fancy **** where they buy you a brand new bike if it gets totaled.

I also have my truck and 3 houses insured with them, so that may be why its less. My 2008 Hypermotard 1100 was $800/year back when I had it - solo policy.

I'm with allstate and my street triple was $188/yr, the hyper is close to $900 for the same coverage. I'm starting to shop for new insurance now.

I have Allstate and I pay $259/yr for my Strada. Man, bike insurance is all over the place.

Except for personal liability. I'm fortunate to have full medical coverage provided by my job.

WOW, I guess it pays to be old. :D

$182 for full coverage per year on my Hyper and $203 per year on my Multi. State farm does it by displacement only and does not have different catagories. :D

Coming from a 2013 Street Triple R to this 2013 Hyperstrada, my Rider insurance went up by 10X for the same coverage. I was paying about $150.00 for pretty high limits and it went up to over $1,500. I switched to Geico which lowered it to around $500 for a year. Again, full coverage with high limits. But- yea not sure why insurance is so high on this bike compared to my street triple. The street triple was a more aggressive bike and was just as fast.

That doesn't sound right. I had my 900 monster on a single policy at state farm for $500 at 6 months. Same coverages on my hyper for 6 months were quoted at $1300.

It may be 13 years newer, but it has less cc's and is only about twice the cost to replace.

Regardless of what an insurance company tells you, "displacement" isn't everything.

I can show you my policy if you wish.

I'm not doubting what you pay for insurance, but I don't think state farm only pays attention to displacement.

A new Panigale (1299) would not have cheaper insurance than a new 103ci (1687cc) Harley. It just don't make sense.

I have no doubt that they have rating structures that I am not aware of but my agent said they just went off cc and not model. I do know that my 998FE Ducati was cheaper than my 1340 Harley of the same year. :) Just trying to help someone out with a possible cheaper rate.

I currently pay $650 for full coverage on both my hyperstrada and monster. Everywhere I quoted except Allstate was $1200+ for just the strada. They must have the bike rated differently.

Anyone have experience filing a claim with Allstate? Their customer service didn't impress me like progressive did. Haven't had to file any claims yet.

all state has been great for me for claims - although i've never made a bike claim.. house and car have been great.

cost is super high though, I think. I still need to shop for a lower rate.

I've been with State Farm for ages and have had two different agents tell me the same thing.
