jerky throttle and solution

This might not solve others' problems but I just ran into this. Finishing a 700mile camping backroad scratching trip I noticed a lot of throttle snatch. Thinking I maybe read too many forums I did some testing and it was indeed pretty jerky.

The first thing I thought was what a mechanic told me: when you fill with gas you're also filling with whatever the last guy left in the hose. When we're talking maybe 3 gallons a fill up, that can be significant. So I burned off a tank and refilled - seemed better but not home free.

After I got home I did my first ever chain tightening - thinking a loose chain can create driveline issues. It was 6mm loose. The job itself is remarkably easy.

Boom - smooth as 821cc high compression twin buttah can get. Done. Check that chain and watch that fuel. and congrats to Brock Holt - a player's player.

That's an interesting theory, one that I'll try if I ever get a jerky throttle issue.

I never had a jerky throttle - my point is that this solved an issue that came due to 2 problems - fuel and chain. Not really a theory: a problem and a solution.
