Hi, Picking up a Hyperstrada 821 to go along with my Nine T in the garage.

Looking forward to getting my hands on the bike as I have never seen or sat on it!!! Buying in ***** seems to be a right old lotto...

Any must have mods, recalls etc etc? I know about the CANBUS update and the Coil Pack replacement. Any other quick, easy and cheap fixes that I should be looking at?

Some depend on the year, bikes pre 2015 had a grabby clutch which can be resolved by swapping out the clutch pack. Many, but not all 821s have a weak starter. It has burned out for a handful of folks, for others is just means it's a little harder to start when warm. Canbus filters are an important one, sounds like you are on that. Maybe check with the dealer to confirm any needed ECU updates have been done as well. Aside from that, you're just left with any performance tweaks you want to make to address fueling or suspension, but you can likely get some miles on the bike first before making that decision.

Welcome to the forum. Interesting comparison; 821 HS vs. RnineT! And I like your style, having posted the above at 8.21am. Intentional or coincidental? ;)

Welcome. You're off to a good start with choosing the right color (FYSA- the white one is faster than the red). Lot's of weight savings and few ponies if you want to drop a grand right away (slip on, air filter, Li battery, tune). I'd probably start with lighting from scratch, especially if you plan to ride at night/ inclement weather. If you ride aggressively, you'll want to address that suspension but on decent slab it's not too bad under normal rider weight.
Cheers!

Nice, thanks. I got it with decat, Dekelevic pipe, canister removed etc. I have easy bike rapid on order and already have a 2015 clutch in the garage…

It also has a couple of auxiliary LED already fitted.

Replacement starter may be on the cards also.

Clutch been ordered. Learning to work around the clutch but it is a switch, engaged or not.

The starter sounds laboured, so may look to swap out.

Easy bike Rapid ordered also.
